Courtice man up on weapons charges after shots fired near Vaughan strip club

A Courtice man is facing weapons charges in connection to a shooting at a Vaughan strip club.

Police in York Region say the incident took place on June 29 at Whiskey a Go-Go on Rivermede Road in Vaughan when shots were fired near the entrance of the club.

Although the club was full at the time there were no injuries reported.

Police made two arrests last Thursday.

Noel Frances, 36, is up on six firearm-related charges, including possession of a loaded handgun – and one drug charge. Payton Higgs, 22, of Oakville has also ben arrested and is facing four weapons charges and one count of possession of a controlled substance.

York Police are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken with investigators and to anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area, to please come forward.
