An early Tuesday evening (June 11) collision is causing traffic headaches for Oshawa commuters looking to get home.

The crash, which occurred before 6 p.m., has resulted in the closure of a busy, main street.

Durham Regional Police alerted residents in a tweet on social media platform X that First Avenue is currently closed between Simcoe Street South and Albert Street while police continue to investigate the motor vehicle collision.

Durham police are asking drivers to avoid the area.
