Pickering’s path to a more sustainable city needs the public’s help to stay on track.

The City is updating its Measuring Sustainability Report and residents are invited to provide input on sustainability priorities, access to amenities, services, transportation, community belonging and more at LetsTalkPickering.ca/MSR.

The report monitors a variety of environment, economy, development and consumption indicators and is an important part of the journey to transition Pickering into a more sustainable city.

Part of the work involves collecting and monitoring sustainability-related data and updating the community on progress, and the report will dive into the advancements made, as well as introducing new indicators aligning with the community’s sustainability priorities.

These efforts help the City monitor progress, foster transparency, and encourage community involvement, said Pickering Mayor Kevin Ashe.

“Community input is vital in supporting Pickering’s journey to becoming a more sustainable city. I encourage all community members to participate in the survey and share their valuable insights,” said Ashe. “Your feedback will guide us in understanding what works, what needs improvement, and empower us to make informed decisions that will help pave Pickering’s path to a more sustainable future.”

Visit LetsTalkPickering.ca/MSR to learn more and complete the survey by July 5. Those who complete the survey will have the chance to win a one-year health or fitness membership at the Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex.
