12- year-old girl charged with assaulting three teachers and a student in Oshawa

A 12-year-old girl is facing multiple charges after allegedly assaulting three teachers and one fellow student in Oshawa today (Sept. 18).

According to Durham Regional Police, the incident occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. at Sir Albert Love Catholic School (425 Wilson Rd. N.).

Police allege that when they arrived on scene, they saw the girl physically assaulting a female staff member in the schoolyard.

Police say the officer deployed a conducted energy weapon to stop the assault and the suspect was taken into custody. The entire incident was captured on a body camera.

One victim was transported to hospital after being struck in the head.

Police have not released any information about the other victims at this time.

The suspect has been charged with four counts of assault and mischief. She was released from custody on an undertaking.

“Investigators have been in communication with the school board as well as a parent of the student who was charged,” Durham Police said in a press release.
