16-year-old boy dead in dirt bike crash on Pickering border

A teenage boy is dead following a dirt bike crash on the Pickering-Uxbridge border.

The boy was travelling west on his dirt bike along Uxbridge-Pickering Townline Rd. around 9:30 p.m. on July 19. As he approached Sideline 28, an oncoming car drifted across the centre median and it and the bike collided.

The car driver remained on scene and cooperated with first responders when they arrived soon after. The boy was rushed to hospital but was declared dead there.

Investigators shut down the road for several hours to collect evidence. No charges have been laid, but the investigation is ongoing.
