A teenager suffered serious injuries after a stabbing at the Whitby GO Station Monday evening.

Durham Police responded to a robbery call at the GO Station just before 8:30 p.m. and found a 17-year-old suffering from serious injuries from a stab wound.

Police say the victim was in the parking garage of the GO Station when he was confronted by two other teens before he was stabbed.  The suspects fled the area on foot and the victim was located by police nearby and taken to a Toronto trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.  The suspects were located by officers a short distance away and taken into custody without incident.

The victim and suspects are known to each other and police are calling the stabbing an isolated incident with no concerns for public safety.

Two Whitby boys – one 14 and the other 15 – have been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a dangerous weapon and fail to comply. Both were held held for a bail hearing.
