3 beaches posted as unsafe for swimming in Oshawa, Port Perry and Brock this week

Those looking to cool off this warm August weekend will want to check out the latest beach closures before taking a dip.

Durham Region has posted three beaches as unsafe for swimming for the week of Aug. 15.

Beaches are posted as unsafe when the levels of E. coli exceed the provincial standard of 200 E. coli per 100 ml of water.

The following beaches in Durham are posted as unsafe for swimming:

  • Beaverton South Beach – (Simcoe St. and Harbour Park Cres.), Brock
  • Lakeview Beach West (Kluane Ave. and Lakeview Park Ave.), Oshawa
  • Kinsmen Beach (Palmer Park – Water St. and Mary St.), Port Perry

These three beaches were also posted as unsafe last week.
