Several people were sent to hospital with injuries ranging from minor to serious following a multi-vehicle crash in Oshawa yesterday.
Durham Regional Police responded to a collision involving four vehicles on Ritson Road, just north of Wildflower Court, shortly before 4 p.m.
A green GMC pickup truck travelling southbound lost control and collided with a black Buick Vera, which was also heading southbound. The vehicle then hit two northbound vehicles, a grey Toyota RAV4 and a grey Jeep, police say.
According to investigators, the GMC pickup truck rolled onto its side, causing significant damage to the two northbound vehicles.
The driver of the pickup truck, an 18-year-old man, was taken to a Toronto-area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Officials confirm that two other drivers —didn’t specify from which vehicles—suffered minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital.
Authorities say Members of the Durham Regional Police Service Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to collect evidence. Roads in the area were closed for several hours and have since reopened to motorists.
