People looking to purchase a home in the GTA are looking at high prices no matter where they choose to settle, but the Durham region is more affordable overall, with the average cost of housing (all types combined) sitting at $907,997 as of last month.

But while places like Oshawa, Brock and Clarington offer more affordable homes, the region still has some more luxurious properties selling well above the $1 million mark.

Here’s a look at five of the most expensive homes to change hands last month, courtesy of real estate website and brokerage Zoocasa:


70 Wyndance Way – Uxbridge

This swanky Uxbridge home sold for $2,850,000 after being listed for $2,995,000. Boasting five bedrooms and five bathrooms, the home offers more than 7,000 square feet of living space on a spacious 129-by-244-foot lot.
