A new building in Clarington that asks residents to “live the art” and leave the hustle and bustle (but not the conveniences) of the city behind is taking shape and is expected to be move-in ready this year.
Mondria 1, currently under construction at 1607 King St. E. in the Courtice community, will have six storeys and 89 units ranging in size from 518 to 1,092 square feet.
According to a listing on livabl.com, units are priced between $595,900 and $1,255,900, with some suits offering three bedrooms and dens.
One-bedroom and two-bedroom units are also available.
As far as amenities go, the listing says residents can expect guest suites, a ballroom, a fireplace, a wellness/fitness centre, a rooftop patio, a playground, a ground-level park, BBQs, a multi-purpose sporting green, a co-working space with WiFi and more.
As for suites, the listing says the building will boast “Futurist” units that will provide “ample space for planned growth or unexpected visitors. These smaller suites (500-650 square feet) will include a balcony, floor-to-ceiling windows, “additional, flexible space” and accessibility features.
The building will also offer “Cubist” suites geared towards small families and couples, “Modernist” suites with a “third, flexible room,” “De Stijl suites,” which will span two storeys, “Expressionist” suites that will offer more space (up to 1,100 square feet) for families and Avant Garde suites, which are about the size of a small semi-detached home.
“Live the art at Mondria 1, learn about the community that is changing the skyline of Toronto’s New East Side,” the developer, Monde Development Group, says on its website.
“Leave the noise and 24/7 hustle of downtown to the pigeons and wake up to birdsong from your balcony. Breathe deep in country air without sacrificing the ease of city living. Live where stars light up the night sky. Landscaped parks, comfortable coworking spaces, and spectacular views from the rooftop await, with convenient shopping and dining just steps away. Look out towards provincial parkland from your balcony.”
The building is expected to reach completion this spring.
