Get ready to dance and shout, “Opa!”

A Greek dance event with live music is happening today (July 23) in Whitby.

Rotary Sunrise Lake Park, located north of the Whitby Harbour Lighthouse Pier, will be the venue for this free, family-friendly event.

The park is set to transform into a vibrant celebration of Greek culture, featuring traditional dancing and live music by Olympic Entertainment.

Sponsored by the Greek Tycoon restaurant, the fun will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Not only can you watch, but you’ll also have the chance to learn a few steps during a live demonstration—no experience is required!

Guests are also encouraged to wear their best Greek attire to add to the magic.

Organizers note that should the weather not cooperate, a rain date is set for July 25, 2024.

This dance party is part of Whitby’s Culture Pop-Ups series, aimed at bringing diverse cultural experiences to the community.
