Helicopter rushes victim to hospital following serious crash in Caledon

Update 9 p.m: Police have confirmed additional details about the crash, including the death of one person.

Investigators provided the update around 8:30 p.m., roughly six hours after the crash. They confirmed one person had died and five others had been rushed to hospital. The five survivors include a child. Police did not share the child’s age. The conditions of the five survivors range between non-life threatening and life threatening.

Two Ornge ambulance helicopters were dispatched to a crash in Uxbridge.

Durham Regional Police announced the two-car crash shortly after 3 p.m. on Jan. 29. They reported Sandford Rd. and Regional Rd. 1 just north of the town of Uxbridge proper. They advised motorists to avoid the area until further notice.

The two choppers were soon dispatched with an expected arrival at 3:30 p.m. They transferred the seriously injured occupants to a Toronto hospital.
