Air1 and cops on the ground go from Whitby to Scarborough to capture teen carjackers

Air1 and officers on the ground combined to take down a couple of teenage carjackers in a chase that started in Whitby and ended in Scarborough.

Two 15 year-old boys face multiple charges.

Central West Division officers responded to a carjacking at Centre St. N and Rossland Rd. W in Whitby at 11:35 p.m. Wednesday night. The victim was confronted by two young men who assaulted him and drove off in his black Kia Forte.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Air1 located the stolen vehicle travelling eastbound on Highway 401 and followed the vehicle to Kingston Road and Port Union. Both occupants exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers responded quickly and arrested the two suspects.

The two teenagers, both of Toronto, are charged with robbery and possess property obtained by crime and possess property obtained by crime over $5,000.

They were held for bail hearings.
