Ajax man, 97, dead following car crash in Pickering

A 97-year-old Ajax man was killed in a car crash in Pickering last week.

Two cars collided on Taunton Road near William Jackson Drive on May 29. An eastbound grey Honda CRV attempted a U-turn on Taunton Road shortly before 1 p.m.

During the U-turn, an eastbound silver Mercedes drove into the CRV. Four people were in the CRV including the 97-year-old man. All of them required treatment in hospital. On June 4, the man succumbed to his injuries and died.

The Mercedes driver was not hurt. They have not been charged with any crime.
