Ajax man arrested after firing off gun in local park

A 21-year-old Ajax man faces numerous firearms charges after police seized a loaded firearm in a local park Tuesday evening.
Durham Police West Division officers responded to a call for shots fired at a park near Ainley Road and Turnerbury Avenue. Police located a vehicle with three occupants. Further investigation led to officers seizing a loaded gun and a small quantity of fentanyl and methamphetamine.
David Bynoe faces seven charges which include: two counts of possession of a schedule I substance (fentanyl, methamphetamine); carry concealed weapon; occupy motor vehicle with firearm; possess loaded prohibited firearm; possess restricted/prohibited firearm no licence or registration Certificate and unlicensed person possess prohibited firearm.
He was held for a bail hearing.
