Ajax man charged with voyeurism after cell phone found in hospital washroom

Durham Police have charged a 23-year-old Ajax man with voyeurism after an incident in a hospital washroom Thursday afternoon.

West Division officers responded to a call at Lakeridge Health Ajax Pickering Hospital about noon Thursday after a female staff member located a cellphone in the washroom that had been recording. The phone had been propped up under the sink. Investigation revealed that the cellphone belonged to a man who was working at the site as a security guard.

Steven Medard has been charged with Voyeurism. He was released on an Undertaking.

His cellphone was seized as evidence. No other recording devices were located or seized at this time.
