Ajax running donation drive for Afghan refugees

Ajax residents can help Afghan refugees settle into their new homes starting this weekend.

The town has partnered with Children Without Borders to run a donation campaign from September 12-26.

People can bring their donations to the Ajax Community Centre at 75 Centennial Rd from 4 pm to 9 pm Monday to Friday, and 2-5 pm Sundays.

The town has emphasized the need for gift cards, clothes, shoes, toiletries, luggage, children’s books, and baby care essentials.

The drive is part of Children Without Borders larger campaign to resettle Afghans throughout the GTA after their escape from the Taliban. They also accept donations and sponsorships through their website.
