Ajax woman seriously hurt in dirt bike crash

An Ajax woman suffered serious injuries in a Clarington dirt bike crash this weekend.

Shortly before 3 p.m. on Oct. 5, an Ajax woman was riding her dirt bike east on a trail in Clarington. The trail runs alond Boundary Road on the east side of  Highway 115. The area sits just south of Pontypool.

The motorcyclist lost control of the bike and was thrown off. She suffered seriosu wounds and required treatment in a Toronto trauma centre. She remains in hospital in serious condition.

The Collision Investigation Unit shut the area down for several hours to collect evidence.
