Three men from Toronto have been arrested after an alleged attempt to steal copper wiring from Bell Canada.

According to Durham Regional Police, they received a report of a break-and-enter at the Bell Canada Cable Yard at 1235 Boundary Rd. The yard sits in an industrial area down by the lakeshore.

Investigators allege three men broke into the yard and were trying to steal copper wiring. During this attempt, police say they set up a perimeter around the yard and watched the alleged heist through a flying drone camera.

The trio tried to flee from the scene, police claim, but were rounded up before they could get out of the yard. They include;

  • Miklos Horvath, 30 of Toronto
  • Sandor Kiss, 27 of Toronto
  • Norbert Szeles, 23 of Etobicoke

All three are break-and-enter, theft over $5,000, possession of stolen property under $5,000, and possession of break-in instruments. They remain in custody until a bail hearing.
