An Oshawa woman faces charges after allegedly fleeing a Cobourg store with stolen goods after fighting off the store employees.

According to Cobourg Police, their officers received a distress call from the shop on Division St. shortly before 3 p.m. on July 3. When the officers responded they learned a woman allegedly got into a fight with the employees and ran from the store with the stolen product. Police did not specify what kind of store it was or what was stolen.

Investigators soon caught up with a suspect. They’ve charged Brittany Sterling, 30 of Oshawa, with robbery and possession of stolen property over $5,000. Sterling has been released from custody with conditions pending a future court date.
