Alleged ‘indecent act’ near Whitby school results in charges

A man has been arrested after he was allegedly caught performing an “indecent act” near a Whitby public school.

Durham Regional Police say they were called to C.E. Broughton Public School near the corner of Crawforth St. and Pringle Dr. on Jan. 23. School staff claimed to have seen a man “committing an indecent act” in his car around noon. He was parked near the school playground while the children were out on lunch break.

Officers arrived and arrested a man shortly thereafter. Siva Ram Natarajan, 40 of Whitby, is charged with commiting an indecent act in public. He’s since been released with conditions.
