Alleged liquor store robber wanted in Pickering

The unidentified suspect of a liquor store robbery is wanted in Pickering.

Durham Police responded to a robbery call at a hybrid Esso gas station and LCBO convenience location at 2250 Highway 7 in north Pickering. A man entered the store shortly before 11 a.m. on July 25.

According to investigators, the man grabbed a case of alcoholic drinks and left without paying. A little while later the man returned to the store and took a second case of booze without paying, police allege.

On the second attempt, staff tried to stop the man. However, he wheeled and pulled a knife on them. He fled into a waiting dark Honda Civic without hurting anyone.

Police describe the man as white, 20 to 30 years old, with short black hair. He was wearing a black sweater, black pants, and black shoes.
