An alleged impaired couple arrested following drug bust in Clarington

Two people have been arrested and charged with multiple offences following an impaired investigation last week in Clarington, that allegedly exposed concealed drugs inside the vehicle.

On Wednesday (Oct. 4) shortly before 11 a.m., police responded to reports of an impaired couple asleep in a vehicle near Clarington Blvd. and Stevens Rd., east of King St. W.

According to investigators, upon locating the vehicle, police conducted a traffic stop and observed drug paraphernalia.

A subsequent search revealed, a significant quantity of various drugs and a prohibited weapon, police say.

The suspects Daniel Knight (45), and Tanya Eastman (38) face multiple drug-related charges including possession of a substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of an unlicensed prohibited weapon.
