Arena in north Clarington undergoing $3 million renovation

The Orono Arena is getting $3 million in upgrades this summer.
The renovation project for the north Clarington rink will include the replacement of the refrigerated floor under the ice pad, upgrading the changing rooms and shower areas replacing the rubber flooring throughout the arena. The ice pad will also see new rink boards and a heated penalty box.
The work is expected to extend the arena’s lifespan by another 15 years.
The arena is expected to reopen in September. The upstairs multi-purpose room will remain open and available to rent throughout the renovation.
