Armed man steals friend’s car in Ajax, police allege

Durham Police allege an armed man stole his friend’s car after an argument in Ajax.

The pair, a man and a woman, got into an argument around 2:30 a.m. on July 25. Ultimately the man got into the woman’s car and drove off. The car was tracked down to a plaza in Toronto.

When officers reached the vehicle, they found the man asleep in the driver’s seat. The officers woke the man and asked for his identification. As he searched his bag, the officers noticed a handgun inside. They then arrested him.

Dwayne Godfrey White, 28 of Markham, is charged with possession of a loaded restricted or prohibited firearm, occupying a car with a gun, tampering with a gun’s serial number, and possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm with no licence.
