Barfight leads to assault charge for Clarington man

A Clarington man is facing charges due to his alleged involvement in a barfight.
Shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 4 a fight broke out in the Endivine Grill and Bar located at 73 King St. E. Bowmanville. Two men had gotten into an argument which evolved into a physical altercation. One of the men received serious but not life threatening wounds in the scuffle. He had to be taken to a local hospital.
Durham Regional Police soon arrived to break the fight up. They arrested Michael Kougais, 39, on a charge of assault causing bodily harm. He’s since been released with conditions.
