A grandmother from Beaverton is heading down south this winter with her $100,000 in lottery winnings.
Lillian Madden bought a Lottario ticket at the Sobey on Dalton Rd in Sutton West. She’s been playing regularly throughout the last year and “I always say yes to ENCORE,” she said.
Saying yes has certainly paid of for Madden since her latest Encore match six of the seven numbers to win the $100,000.
“I was out running errands when I thought to check my tickets. The machine made a funny noise, and I asked the store clerk if the register was broken but the clerk said I had won and we had to wait for a call from OLG,” Madden said.
After receiving the call and heading to Toronto to pick up her winning Madden told the OLG, “It’s numbing. I don’t know how else to put it,” she smiled. “I can’t get it through my head that I won $100,000.”
Madden has a lot to consider to use her winnings on the OLG said, but her biggest priority is skipping winter this year by heading somewhere warm.
The OLG holds and encore draw every day offering 22 chances to win. Players can buy an Encore for an extra dollar whenever they pick up a ticket.
Winners of $1,000 to $49,000 should submit their win online. Anyone who wins $50,000 or more should call 1-800-387-0098 to arrange pick up.
