Youth dead after shooting in Pickering Sunday night

A young person is dead after a fatal shooting in Pickering Sunday night.

Durham Regional Police responded to reports of a shooting in the area of Kingston Road and Valleyfarm Roads in Pickering at approximately 10 p.m.

When police arrived they found a youth who had sustained life-threatening injuries.

Very early Monday morning, police confirmed the young man, who was under the age of 18, had succumbed to his injuries.

The homicide unit has taken over the investigation.

Police have not released any suspect information, and no arrests have been made but DRPS media will be making an iupdate this morning.
