There are ghost walks and there are also plenty of homeowners in Durham Region who have turned their properties into haunted houses to celebrate Halloween and the spooky season.

And then there’s the Brawley Woods Haunted Halloween Walk in north Whitby.

Held over the last three weekends of October, Rawley Woods has been called the “most intense” haunted attraction in Ontario, so scary, in fact, that there is a ‘chicken lane’ exit for those who can’t handle the fear factors on display.

The attraction is a premier haunted walk through an actual forest with movie production props, some of the biggest animatronics in North America – including 13-foot animatronics coming right you – and well-trained live actors who will make you wish you brought extra Depends.

Feedback from those have dared to venture into the woods northwest of Brooklin have been positive, with comments like “pretty intense” and “next level” animation and props.

“I’d recommend it if you can handle gore, blood, and horror stuff,” said Reddit user Mat. “I just don’t think it’s good for really young kids….it might mess them up.”

Brawley Woods Haunted Halloween Walk is located at 1320 Brawley Road at Coronation Road. Use the gravel road to the east and follow it to the free parking. Admission is $35 – cash only.

Hours are 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday this weekend (Oct. 18-20) and next weekend (Oct. 25-27).
