Durham Region is planning to show off a wide variety of local businesses at a showcase event in April.

Registration opened for the showcase on March 22 with the region calling on businesses to sign up. The event is organized into six categories spread across three days from April 15-17.

Each day features two categories;

  • Information Technology and Smart Cities (9 a.m. to noon, April 15)
  • Transportation (Transit and Roads) (1 p.m. to 4 p.m, April 15)
  • Health and Social Services (9 a.m. to noon, April 16)
  • Water, Wastewater and Solid Waste Management (1 p.m. to 4 p.m, April 16)
  • Operations (Facilities and Emergency Services) (9 a.m. to noon, April 17)
  • General Administration and Business Services (1 p.m. to 4 p.m, April 17)

Each attendee will get ten minutes to present their business and products to regional staff whose work relates to each category.

“The Business Showcase Event supports Durham’s Regional and Municipal commitment to innovation and continuous improvement,” the Region.

“This showcase bridges the municipal, public and private sectors and provides an opportunity for businesses to demonstrate products that would improve municipal operations and service delivery,” they continued.

While the event targets businesses who can apply for regional contracts, one is not guaranteed by participating. A full breakdown of each category description is available online.

Interested businesses can apply online. Registration in open until April 2.
