After a quiet summer completing a few infrastructure repair projects in the historic 1940s movie theatre turned music venue and event space in downtown Oshawa, the Biltmore is all ready for a busy fall concert season.

Some of Canada’s best touring artists and up-and-comers are already booked in to the King Street theatre, which was built in 1941 and given new life in 2021 (in the middle of the pandemic) by local entrepreneur Julius Kedvessy.

Kedvessy died that fall and the venue – and his vision – is now in the hands of his daughter, Diana Cerovich.

Seasoned touring acts such as Matthew Good, Dwayne Gretzky, Danny Michel and The Standstills will visit the Biltmore this fall and there will also be performances from some of Canada’s most anticipated acts, including Virginia to Vegas (Oct. 4), Skye Wallace (Oct. 23), CARYS and Featurette.

The Biltmore was a 2024 nominee for Best Teamwork in a Medium Club (Canadian Live Music Industry Awards) and has been short-listed for four Greater Oshawa Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards: Tourism Operator of The Year, Emerging Business Award, Intrapreneur of the Year (General Manager Jacob Hamayda) and Business Person of the Year (Cerovich).

Seven acts (and bingo!) are already pencilled in for this month:

  • Fu**ed Up (with Chastity, Tijuana Jesus & Puffer) – Sept. 12
  • Emo Night 2, featuring Contour, Far From Infamy & Strike Tyson – Sept. 13
  • Thomas Mac – Sept. 16
  • Matthew Good and his Band – Sept. 18
  • Epic Bingo – Sept. 20
  • Professors of Funk – Sept. 21
  • Amanda Keeles – Sept. 27
