Canada rallied late to squeeze by the United States 69-67 in the Globl Jam tournament in Toronto Wednesday.

Emmanuel Miller, who scored 13 and added ten rebounds in the win, hit from long-range with 1:30 to play to seal the win after the Americans had led by as much as eight earlier in the final quarter.

Marcus Carr led Canada with 14 and Stefan Smith of Ajax – the standout senior guard with St. John’s University added 11.

Keyonte George led the Americans and all scorers with 19 points.

The win in front of a boisterous crowd at Mattamy Athletic Centre put Canada at 2-0 and left the Americans – staffed entirely by ex, current and future Baylor University players – at 0-2. Canada out-rebounded the U.S. 54-39 and went to the line 38 times versus just 16 for the visitors.

Canada faces Italy tonight in the final round-robin match while the U.S. plays Brazil.
