While it’s hard to believe now that the heavy rain won’t last forever, the forecast is calling for sunny skies this week and that’s good news for dogs (and their families) who have been cooped up inside due to the wet weather.

Recently, Coun. Rob Tyler-Morin announced that he and Coun. Marilyn Crawford will be on hand to celebrate the opening of a new leash-free dog area at Miller’s Creek Park in Ajax on July 18.
The leash-free area is located on the west side of the McLean Centre, next to the skate park.
The off-leash area is one of several changes visitors can see at the park. Earlier this year, the town announced that the asphalt trail would be repaired and that grading sod restoration would also take place.
The construction led to temporary closures of some access points and the washrooms.
The opening event will kick off at 4 p.m. and dog treats will be provided by Gruffies.
