Clarington is hosting three waterfront pop-ups this week for residents to have their say on the municipality’s waterfront strategy.
The Municipality of Clarington is working on updating its waterfront vision with a renewed strategy for the 34 kilometres of Clarington’s shoreline. The waterfront study area includes all of the land between Highway 401 and Lake Ontario, from the Oshawa boundary to the Port Hope boundary.
“We want to ensure that our community and visitors can enjoy the pristine beauty of the space today, tomorrow and in the future,” the municipality declared on its website. “We are just getting started on the strategy and want to hear from you as we create a plan that reflects our collective community vision.”
Residents are encouraged to fill out a short survey and join the waterfront team on Thursday, August 25 (5 to 7 p.m.) at Port Darlington East Beach Park; Saturday, August 27, (10 a.m. to noon) at the trailhead of Courtice Waterfront Trail at the end of Courtice Road; and Saturday, August 27, (2 to 4 p.m.) at Bond head Parkette.
