A Clarington man who told police he had nine guns and would use them to kill another man has been charged with uttering threats and public mischief.
The incident happened in downtown Oshawa Sunday and Durham Police assured residents no assaults took place and the suspect has been taken into custody.
Police were called to a residence near King St. E and Victoria Street after the suspect himself called police to report an assault and that he was going to kill the man responsible.
Police deemed the assault allegation “false.”
Bobby Bickle, 32, has been held in custody for a bail hearing.
His mother, Cindy Bickle, 60, attempted to interfere with the arrest and was also taken into custody Sunday, police said. She has been charged with obstructing a police officer and was released on a promise to appear.
