Clarington man dead after Thursday evening collision in north Oshawa

A Clarington man is dead after a collision on Taunton Road in Oshawa Thursday evening.

The 36 year-old man was on a motorcycle travelling westbound on Taunton, west of Town Line, just after 8 p.m. when he was struck by 2014 Chevrolet Cruze.

The driver of the eastbound Cruze was attempting to make a left turn onto Arbourwood Drive.

The motorcyclist sustained critical injuries and despite lifesaving efforts of first responders, he succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to Lakeridge Health Oshawa.

The driver and passenger of the car were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Members of the Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct an investigation, with the roadway closed for several hours while evidence was collected. This investigation is ongoing.
