Clarington robbery suspect arrested after police raid

Police scooped up a suspect of a convenience store robbery following a police raid of his home.

The suspect was wanted in connection to a the robbery on July 27. That evening a man walked into Penny’s Mini Mart on Old Scugog Rd in Blackstock, a hamlet in Clarington.

The man, armed with a pistol, demanded cash before hopping into a silver/grey sedan and speeding off. The clerk was unharmed in the robbery.

Nearly a month later on August 18, Durham Regional police conducted a raid at a home on Carnegie Beach Rd in Scugog, about 20 minutes North of the crime scene. They later arrested a suspect in Scugog.

Cyle Allen, 33, remains in custody on charges of robbery with firearm, disguise with intent, possession of weapons for dangerous purpose, disobeying a court order and failure to comply with probation order.
