The operator of a learning facility focused on autistic children has been charged for assaulting a child.

Police allege the woman assaulted the non-verbal 8-year-old autistic child on two occasions in October 2021.

On October 27, police arrested Michelle Gallagher, 29, owner of Think Tank Therapy in Bowmanville, charging her with two counts of assault. She has since been released with conditions.

DRPS says they are working with the Children’s Aid Society and the victim’s family throughout the investigation and are trying to find out if there are other victims.
