A woman from Clarington is set to go on vacation after a $100,000 scratch ticket win.

Lynn Bayda, a retired finance worker from Newcastle, bought an Instant Hot Slot ticket at the J&J Convenience Store on King Street in Newcastle. The 30-year player typically plays Crossword and Bingo, but likes to try the new tickets as they come out.

She bought her ticket in the afternoon and scratched it at home that evening. She said, “When I revealed I won $100,000, I had to put my glasses on! I was convinced it was $10,000 at first. I jumped up and down and yelled for my husband. I always told him I was going to win the big one someday and I did.”

“I want to share some of this win with my children and book a trip somewhere warm and sunny with a beautiful beach,” she concluded.

The Hot Slot is a newer $5 ticket with a maximum prize of $100,000.
