Think you can Go-Kart with the best of ‘em?

You can get your chance to prove it this Sunday at the Mosport Karting Centre with the M.I.K.A. Ironman and Briggs Cadet Petite Ironman races.

Experienced racers in the Briggs Master karts will have to stay focused as all classes from Briggs Jr. Lite and up will be competing on the same track in the marathon two-hour race.

New this year to the Clarington track is the Petite Enduro, a 45-minute race following morning practice for the more experienced racers. Both races will take place on the National Track using a LeMans-style format.

There is a one-driver minimum – with two drivers recommended – and a one pit stop minimum. Drivers must also make weight to race.

Gates and registration open at seven a.m. and there will be a drivers’ meeting at 8:30. Practice time will be at 9 and the races will start at 9:35 (Petite) and 10:30 (Ironman). The cost ranges from $125 to $200 per team (depending on the number of drivers).

All class winners will receive a Versace gift pack with a cash price to the overall winner and medals awarded to everyone who makes the podium.
