Collision prompts major road closures in Durham

A motor vehicle accident has resulted in the temporary closure of two roads in Bowmanville this evening (Oct 7).

According to Durham Regional Police Service, Bowmanville Ave., stretching from Nash Rd. to Stevens Rd., and Longworth Ave., spanning from Bowmanville Ave. to Scugog St., have both been closed off to traffic.

Authorities are advising residents and commuters to steer clear of the affected area as cleanup and accident investigation efforts are underway.

The cause of the accident and the extent of the injuries remain unknown at this time.
