The annual Community Cleanup Week in Oshawa kicks off April 22, with groups of all sizes encouraged to volunteer to clean up the city’s parks, green spaces, trails and schoolyards.

Garbage bags and gloves (while supplies last) will be provided for participants.

To register or learn more, including choosing a community clean-up area or finding a group, visit Oshawa.ca/CleanupWeek.

As part of the annual initiative, Communities with Brooms will return for a downtown spring cleaning on Tuesday, April 23, beginning at 11:30 a.m., with a free barbecue event to follow. To register for Communities with Brooms, email [email protected].

In addition to Community Cleanup Week, Mayor Dan Carter hosts downtown clean up events Saturday mornings on May 25 and June 22 and on September 7 with Friends of Second Marsh. All volunteers will receive supplies, including gloves, maps and garbage bags.
