Confrontation involving 3 men leads to 2 drug trafficking arrests after police called in Oshawa

Two men have been charged with drug trafficking and weapons offences following a confrontation in Oshawa that led to a 9-1-1 call on Sunday night.
Durham Police say officers responded to the area of Simcoe St. South and John St. around 10:25 p.m., after a witness reported seeing two men following and confronting a lone male.
When officers arrived, they quickly located those involved and found two people in possession of drugs and weapons including cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, a collapsible baton, Taser and knives.
Officials did not specify which of the two men involved in the confrontation were arrested.
Omari Anderson, 25, of York, faces multiple charges including failure to comply with a release order, possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace, possession of a prohibited weapon and trafficking in Schedule I substances.
Steven MacCarthy, 28, of Oshawa, is charged with breach of probation, possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace and trafficking in Schedule I substances.
Both suspects were held for a bail hearing.
