Oshawa Generals General Manager Roger Hunt and Director of Hockey Operations Mike Kelly will be sticking around for another five years after each man inked five-year contract extensions.

Hunt, who is also the Vice-President of the hockey club, joined the organization in 2010 as an assistant coach and served as both assistant coach and assistant general manager when the team won the Memorial Cup in 2015.

He was promoted to his current role the following season.

Kelly began his career with the Generals as Head Scout for several seasons and was promoted to Director of Hockey Operations in 2015. He is now approaching 10 years assisting Hunt and the team’s coaching staff with OHL transactions as well as overseeing the scouting operations for the team.

“I’m excited that Roger Hunt and Mike Kelly have agreed to terms,” said club owner Rocco Tullio, who cited 12 straight playoff appearances, an OHL championship and Memorial Cup and this year’s Eastern Conference title as key reasons for the extensions. “Both have been instrumental in the success of our hockey club over the past 14 years in drafting players, developing players, and trades. Their track record speaks for itself.”
