Convenience store clerk pepper sprayed during Oshawa robbery

Police say a 19-year-old is facing charges after an employee at a convenience store was allegedly pepper sprayed during a robbery.

Durham police allege that shortly before 3 a.m. on Nov. 6, an individual entered a Circle K store located at 206 King Street East and sprayed an employee with a “noxious substance while attempting to steal items.”

The suspect was taken into custody, and a canister of pepper spray was located during a search, police say.

The victim sustained minor injuries.

Police say Jordan Faith Myers, from Oshawa, is facing several charges in connection with the incident, including robbery, administering a noxious substance and possessing a dangerous weapon.

The accused was released on an undertaking.
