Convenience store robbed overnight in Bowmanville

The search is on for two male suspects who robbed a Bowmanville convenience store in the early hours of Wednesday (Oct. 9).

Durham Regional Police received a call at 2:20 a.m. that a Circle K convenience store, located at 180 King Street East, had been robbed.

“Two males entered the store and attempted to take cash from the register,” said Durham police. “When they were unsuccessful, they forced an employee to open cabinets for lottery tickets and cigarettes.”

Both male suspects fled the area before police arrived on the scene.

The victim did not sustain any physical injuries.

The first male suspect is described as being black, five-foot-six with a heavy build, and between 25 and 30 years old. He was wearing a blue/black sweater and grey jogging pants and had on a black balaclava mask.

The second suspect is black, approximately five-foot-eight with a slender build, and is between 25 to 30 years old. He was wearing a black winter coat with grey jogging pants and brown shoes and was wearing a black balaclava mask.
