After the virus gave us a scare with 121 new cases on Wednesday, the numbers settled down yesterday with just 41 cases reported in Durham, the lowest total this week.

There was one new death reported, a late reporting fatality from Whitby.

The active cases count stands at 454 in Durham Region. Hospitalization numbers remain at 29 in the region, with two in ICU.

Oshawa (11) and Pickering (10) were the only municipalities to report new cases in double digits.

An outbreak at Abbeylawn Retirement home in Pickering that is nearly a month old remains an area of concern. Twelve residents and staff have now tested positive, though one resident who was in hospital has been released.
