COVID cases still on the high side in Durham with 27 new cases reported; 12 from Clarington

COVID-19 cases in Durham Region remained relatively high yesterday with 27 new cases reported, which is down slightly from 32 reported Wednesday. Clarington continues to record the most cases, with 12 reported on Thursday.

Clarington is also responsible for the majority of the 21 students home isolating from 13 school outbreaks in Durham.

The active case count rose slightly to 189 and there remains one Durham resident in hospital. There are now two workplace outbreaks in the region.

The vaccination rate for eligible Durham residents is now 84.1 per cent.
