COVID numbers still dropping in Durham – one new death reported in Whitby Saturday

COVID-19 numbers in Durham continue to fall, with just 453 active cases after a four-day weekend that saw a spike on Friday with 109 new cases before averaging just 58 cases per day since then.

There was one new death in Whitby on Sunday.

Oshawa has averaged 19 new cases a day since last Friday, with Whitby and Ajax each averaging 12.

Institutional outbreaks have been reduced to just nine, affecting 31 residents and visitors. The biggest outbreaks are at Abbeylawn (9), Butternut Manor (6) and Lakeridge Health Ajax-Pickering (5).
