Crash closes major Oshawa road

UPDATE: Elderly woman dead, 3 injured in head-on collision in Oshawa
A car crash has shut down a major artery through Oshawa.
According to Durham Regional Police, a car crashed on Simcoe St. up in the city’s northern reaches on Apr. 10. Investigators announced the crash shortly after 4 p.m.
The crash occurred between Raglan Rd. and Howden Rd. north of Windfield Farms. Police have shut down Simcoe St. between those two roads.
“Please avoid the area and give yourself extra travel time,” said Durham police Central West Division.
Investigators have not confirmed any expected reopening time.
